Eric decided to train his Ralts, Hone a little bit. Since Ralts is a psychic type pokemon it would only make sense for it to learn a psychic type move like confusion. Confusion is a simple psychic move that a psychic pokemon learn at early levels. "Today we are going to learn confusion, Hone." Eric said as he got Hone out of the pokeball. "Now we are going to start out small, ok Hone. Try to lift this pebble from my hand." he said as he picked up a pebble off the ground. “Now try to focus all your energy on this Hone. Try to use your psychic powers for this." Hone was trying with all his might. He was sweating really badly. The pebble was shaking and rose about three inches off his hand. Hone gave up then almost fell over. "That was good Hone just try to forget everything about your surroundings and focus only on the pebble." Eric said enthusiastically. Hone focused just on the pebble. He put out the noises of the birds and the wind out of his mind and blurred out all images of everything but the pebble even Eric saying his encouraging words. The pebble gradually lifted until it rose a couple feet from Eric's hand. Hone was tired after that but not as tired as from the first time he tried it. "Good now focus on everything around you and partly on the pebble and try it now." Eric knew that this would be extremely hard for his Ralts but that is how you do it in battle. At first hone tried by doing what his trainer said but it just wasn't working. He decided he would still focus somewhat mainly on the pebble but also on the sound around him to hear if anything else was going on. By eliminating it to only two things it was much easier for him. After a couple tries he finally made the pebble rise again. To make sure that Hone was paying attention to his surrounding he had boom, his Cubone who he let out of his pokeball earlier, throw his bone at Hone. When Hone heard the bone coming toward him he ducked and it hit Eric in the head. Although as this happened he let the pebble fall back to Erics hand. Rubbing his head Eric said,"Very good, you sensed the bone coming although you did drop the pebble. If the pebble were a pokemon and you let it go you would have been successfully attacked. Try it again." Eric picked up a bigger rock that weighed at least 4 pounds. "Try to pick this up." Hone knew it would be much harder for him to do that. He tried and it only wiggled. He tried again and it got a couple inches off Erics hand just like the pebble. "Try to unleash all that psychic power that is inside of you. You have much more psychic power then that." Hone was trying to find the reserve of psychic power inside of him but so far he was only able to access a fraction of it. He was putting all his power into lifting the rock but it just wasn't enough. Suddenly he heard a sound as if something was being thrown. He realized too late that it was Booms bone that was heading right toward him. He was scared so he squinted. He knew it would hit him any second but nothing happened. He looked behind him and the bone was just hovering right next to his head. Hone felt something rushing out of his body that he never felt before. He knew it was his psychic power. He dropped the rock from being scared but he picked it and the bone up 10 feet into the air. "Good job." Eric said excited. "I knew you could do it. I wonder how much you can lift up now." As Hone dropped the bone and the rock Eric was saying to pick up his large boulder that must have weight 100 pounds. He picked it up not easily but it wasn't hard either. Eric was impressed. He knew that Hone must have learned confusion and leveled up in the process.
