Kenji looked out at the expansive fields and multiple bug and grass pokemon that inhabited them. Tch, pathetic really. Kenji said to himself as he looked at the "useless" pokemon in the fields. I better find something actually worth catching. He pulled out a pokeball and tossed it into the air. A flash of white light brought out Charmander who looked at Kenji with a smile. The man's usual scowl met the fire pokemon's smile and Charmander nodded. I don't care if you have to burn these field's to the ground, just find a pokemon worth fighting. Charmander nodded and unleashed multiple embers, setting the field's ablaze, hoping to draw out a worthy opponent.

Well your Charmander is spoilt for choice here! He can see at least four different bug and grass types! There's some Cacnea, Burmy, Hoppips and one or two oddishes. These would be really easy for your Charmander to kill and you probably wouldn't want to bother with them. So was you begin walking into the fields guess what rolls up? A phanphy, all happy and content with the world, crashed into your legs playfully.

Kenji looked down as something lightly bounced into his legs, A phanpy? This is the best these fields have to offer? Pathetic. Kenji said as he kicked the Phanpy back and away from him. It wasn't a particularly hard kick, but it was enough to deliver the message he didn't want to "play". Charmander, kill it and let's move on. Charmander nodded and swung his tail in a large arc, unleashing an ember attack. He followed up by charging forward, claws extended and lunged at Phanpy with a scratch.

The Phanphy endured the hits and was now scorched and bleeding. The dirt in the field was not going to help it at all. It ran forward at speed and then head butted your Charmander, using take down, but then caused itself some damage when it hit the floor. The dust cloud which formed went into it's mounds and it winced painfully.

Charmander was hit in the stomach by the small elephant and rolled backwards. He got up and cringed, that hadn't felt too good, You're better than this Charmander. Some people might think those were kind words of encouragement, not from Kenji though. Kenji said these words with what seemed to be disappointment and disapproval. Charmander finish this thing and let's get going. That take down actually isn't half bad maybe I'll catch this pokemon after all, we'll see. Charmander nodded and swung his tail again, however as he did so black smoke rolled away from his open mouth as a smoke screen drifted towards Phanpy, hiding the ember within, making it hard to dodge. However, Charmander hadn't expect the smokescreen to explode around Phanpy which is exactly what happened when the ember hit the smokescreen.

The phanphy was out for the count. It looked like a charcoaled log and it was a wonder it was still alive. You and Charmander just won your first battle and Charmander seems stronger for it! (level up)

Now in the field most of the grass pokemon had fled after the explosion and all that remained were more idiotic Phanphy and a couple of slow Shuckle. That wasn't really good for training a fire type but for now it'd have to do.

Kenji looked down at the fainted Phanpy and sighed, Three low power attacks and you're down? Not worth my time. He turned to Charmander and said, You on the other hand, that explosion was mildly interesting to watch, work on it. That was about as good of a compliment as Kenji would give. Charmander nodded and smiled to himself, knowing Kenji had tried his best to compliment him. The fire type pokemon trailed at the trainer's heels as they walked through the fields, ignoring the Phanpys and Shuckles and looking for something worth their time.

Well the Phanphys and shuckles payed no heed and as you continue you see many pokemon scrambling around. But one which you could have seen from a fair bit away was a Tropius. It stood calmly and erect on the top of a hill, looking down over the fields. I definitely seemed older and more wise than these other pokemon and wasn't phased by an explosion.

Kenji looked at the Tropius and pulled out his pokedex, Hm pretty damn ugly and useless but exp is exp. Charmander throw an ember at it, it most likely saw that smokescreen explosion so it'll be expecting that. Charmander nodded and turned in a full circle, as his tail passed in the Tropius's direction several embers shot forth towards the creature. Charmander didn't stop there though, the fire pokemon charged up the hill, now releasing embers from his mouth as well.

Unfortunately the Tropius was ready for you and used gust to disperse or knock away most ifthe fireballs. However two hit and it roared in agony. It ran at your charmander, playing a game of chicken, and almost trampled it beneath it's legs. Tropius then used another gust in an attempt to drive the charmander away and blow out it's tail.

Charmander get out of its way! Kenji ordered and Charmander rolled to the left as the Tropius stormed by, avoiding being trampled. Kenji noticed the Tropius turn and ready a gust attack, something Charmander wouldn't notice, Keep rolling and unleash a smokescreen as you do. Charmander did as commanded and soon he was rolling through a cloud of smoke. Kenji knew the gust would blow away the smokescreen but he planned to use that to his advantage.

As the smoke was blown away and dispersed Charmander charged at Tropius from the left, unleashing an ember attack and followed up by a scratch. Claws extended the fire lizard jumped into the air and followed through with his scratch attack aimed towards Tropius's left shoulder.

As the smoke dispersed, Charmander came rushing towards Tropius's left, letting loose a single ember attack, preparing for a violent scratch attack. Once again however, the ember was thwarted with a powerful gust, unleashed by Tropius's massive 'wings'. As soon as the threat had been gotten rid of, the dinosaur lifted itself off of the ground, taking flight. It was surprising to see something of such mass fly around with ease, and it was even more surprising when you saw that it was fleeing. Charmander wouldn't get much experience from this battle...

Kenji watched the Tropius leave and shrugged, Whatever, it wasn't worth our time if it was that weak anyway. Let's go find something stronger Charmander. Charmander watched the Tropius leave for an extra few seconds before turning and following his trainer. Kenji walked through the fields, ignoring any weak pokemon he saw and anything that got too interested Charmander scared off with a glare that said, "I'll burn your freaking ass off."

A rather burly looking Heracross approached you and just pointed. Pointed directly at Charmander like it was nobody's business if he stopped or why he started. It ran forward and then, using it's bettle wings, began to fly. It dived forwards before you could react and used horn attack.

Charmander was knocked back by the horn attack, Kenji looked on surprised. He hadn't been surprised about the attack but the fact that he hadn't seen the pokemon coming, this was definitely worth catching. He pulled out his pokedex and scanned the odd beetle pokemon, Hm...Heracross? Well you're mine Heracross. Charmander smokescreen! Kenji commanded as he backed off the battlefield which was quickly engulfed in black smoke. Charmander, now hidden in the smoke used an ember attack on the smoke screen, the single ember starting a massive explosion in the smoke that enveloped Heracross.

The heracross screetched slightly. It was a much lower level than the Charmander, by 3, so the super effective attack was even more powerful to it. The heracross was still standing but it's wings were unusable and it was scorched all over. It suddenly didn't want to fight and to be honest who could blame it?

Kenji looked at the Heracross and shook his head, And I had such high hopes for this one, but in the end it turned out to be useless trash...again. Charmander, finish it and let's get going, I'm growing bored of this place. Charmander nodded and launched an ember from his mouth, just in case the bug pokemon tried to get away he prepared an ember to throw from his tail as well. Charmander wouldn't let this one get away, not like Tropius had.

The Heracross wasn't going to hand you the battle easier. It ran forward using a night slash then a fury attack, jabbing with it's horn a lot, and . Hopefully this would keep the Charmander at bay for a while before it had enough strength to use it's wings again, then it could dodge easier, and also us flying type moves, if it knew any.

The night slash dispersed the ember coming towards the Heracross which left it with the multiple jabs to the Charmander.
