Appearance: Nico stands at about five feet, six inches. His hair is a light shade of brown, almost always hanging in his face and left fashionably shaggy. His most iconic item is his pair of goggles, the only item he got from his father. Because of their importance to him, he always wears them, hiding his dark blue eyes. He wears a red-and-white striped shirt beneath a white vest, with a dark pair of skinny jeans. He covers his hands with long black gloves that stop just below his elbow, and also wears a pair of black boots that stop just below the knee.

Personality: Nico is not a people person. Very secretive, his defining characteristics are his sarcasm and dry sense of humor. He is blunt to a fault, often speaking his mind and unintentionally hurting people's feelings. Though he tends to come across as cold, he has a soft spot for Pokemon, and does show respect to those who deserve it. He also cares deeply about his family, especially his mother, and is very protective of them and of their good name.

History: Nico was born the son of Brian and Jessica Tenebrae. Jessica Tenebrae was a former Trainer, whom stood a good chance of challenging the Elite Four, but when her Starter got severely injured, she retired from training early and, eventually settled down to start a family. But this was the beginning of her problems. When Nico was eight, Brian walked out on their family with all of their money, leaving them penniless and putting Jessica in a state of depression and bad health.

Because of this, Nico grew up taking care of his mother, effectively growing up on his own. The only item he had from his father were his father's old pair of goggles from his days as a Trainer, which he started wearing all the time. One day, his mother gave him a Pokemon Egg, which one day hatched into a Torchic. She told him to go on a journey, leaving her in the care of his aunt. The next day, he set out on his journey to finish what his mother couldn't: To beat the Elite Four and become the Champion.

Personality: Ares is a Pokemon that loves to battle. Blindly loyal to Nico, Ares would do anything to protect or help his Trainer, even if it would cause injury to him. Looking up to Nico like a little brother would to his older brother, the two are extremely close. Ares is also very fun-loving and lively, easily the more energetic one.
