Isa smiled slightly as she walked down the road in Grav Port City that teemed with people. It was the first city she had come to from her small town in the countryside, and it positively intrigued her. The beauty of the sea, and the docks, and the people, and even more the pokemon! So many to see with their trainers and companions, each having different personalities and appearances.
Knight strode beside his young trainer, keeping an eye out for anything he might need to fight to protect his naïve protégé. He was angry at the fact that he was probably insufficient at protecting her. After all he was just a small Eevee, he would have to work hard to become stronger and evolve, to be there for her.

Isa leaned down and picked up her Eevee, fearful that he would tire in those conditions. Absently she petted him, he of course tolerated her touch so long as he could watch. The sun began to get hotter as it climbed towards midday, and it warmed both their backs until it was necessary to seek a cool place in the shade under a ledge of one of the buildings. They sat together side-by-side and shared their lunch, oblivious to the rest of the world and the goings on there.

"Wow! There sure a lot of new trainers with eevees!" A small boy exclaims. He is wearing a simple collared black T-shirt, and khaki shorts. A pokedex is in his right pocket, the left with small bumps which may either be pokeballs of apricorns. He wears a sweatband on his forehead with a pokeball logo on it, and his back pack is made of some kind of brown synthetic fiber. Over his right shouder, rests an eevee, yawning. Something is strange about it though. Rather than the usual brown coat, this one has a silvery layer of fur- a shiny pokemon.

"It's no wonder though", he steps closer to yo. "These things are pretty cute!" The boy rubs under his eevee's chin. Almost simultaneously, their stomachs growled. The boy laughed, saying "well, anyways. My name is Ralph, and this is John. We were hungry and saw you eating lunch and well... we're kind of broke." The boy scratches his spiky silver hair and continues with, "so we were wondering if you could spare us some food?"

Isa looked up in surprise, but smiled happily. Her blue-green eyes glittered with curiosity, as she nodded to the young boy. His Eevee looked different from all the ones she had seen so far, and she concluded that he must be a shiny pokemon. She nodded at his words.

"Yes, Eevees are absolutely adorable! I am so thankful my parents gave him to me."

Isa turned and squeezed Knight, who had until then been standing with hackles raised and an angry look on his face. Hearing the way the boy's and his Eevee's stomachs growled she took pity on them. She knew that she was quite fortunate, after all her parents had given her enough money to start herself out on her journey until she could earn her own. Her mother had also sent along enough food for two weeks.

"Of course you can have some food! Sit with us and eat!"

Rummaging through her bag, she searched for another sandwiche like the one she had almost finished, as well as an apple aand some pokemon food for his Eevee. She grabbed Knight's bowl, for he had already eaten, and poured some food into it before putting it down on the sidewalk for John. She handed Ralph the sandwiche and apple and waited til he finished.

Ralph smiled as the girl did, though he never really had too many opinions on the opposite sex. Actually, he hadn't many opinions on his own gender.

"I know right?" He said in agreement with the girl's proclamation. Finally, after a day of journeying, Ralph would finally have a bite to eat. He was a new trainer- green as they could come in. His eevee a baby pokemon, though its size didn't make such a fact too obvious. Both of them are fairly healthy, not too chubby, though at the same time not really skinny.

The silver coated eevee walked up to sniff the food bowl, and turned its head in defiance. The boy chuckled nervously, "sorry about that. John doesn't like eating from another pokemon's food bowl". Ralph takes a bite of the sandwich he was given, while feeding the apple Ralph- it wasn't like he needed much food anyway. After finishing their meal, Ralph got up, allowing John to leap up on his shoulder. "I'm not a free loader- don't ever think such a thing", he said, putting emphasis on the word 'ever'. "I don't really have a lot of money, so I was thinking I could repay your sandwich with a battle?"

Isa watched calmly as Ralph ate, a little disappointed that John didn't want the food, but willing to forgive. Putting back the food and bowl, she smiled as the sun warmed her face, soon she should get on. Then Ralph stood. A battle? She wondered, it would be her first chance to try Knight out..... but she only had him....

"Sure I'll battle! This will be fun!"

She led the way to an a wide enough alleyway, and positioned herself on one side.

"Go on Knight show me what you got!"

Knight followed his trainer expectantly, now he would have his first chance to show her how strong he was. Positioning himself he crouched menacingly, awaiting Ralph's first move, and the order his mistress would give.

(Sorry, I didn't see ya there XD)

Wow! This would be Ralph's first real battle. He was really excited, since until now, all he fought were a few wild pokemon on the way- like the one that stole his lunch earlier. Either way, he was a bit green, but of course he didn't want anyone to notice that. He followed the girl into the alley way with John on his shoulders, and stood a distance away from her. The no-man's-land between them would be their battlefield.

As he arrived at his spot, John leaped off Ralph's shoulders to take his position. "Alright John, show her your tail whip!" Ralph commanded his pokemon with more or less passion in his tone of voice. "By the way, what's your name?"

Knight was somewhat taken in by the tail whip, and relaxed his tense muscles, wondering if John was actually gonna attack or just sit there.

Isa frowned at Knight and jerked her head up at Ralph's words. For a few seconds she was at a loss as to what to say, almost as if she had forgotten her name.

" I'm Isabella, and I'm gonna beat you! Knight, tackle him!"

Knight Launched himself forward, aiming for John's legs, hoping to knock him down.

"Nice to meet you Isabella! Thanks for the lunch too!" Ralph replied smugly. In his mind, he was certain he would win, yet at the same time, insecure of what to do if he lost. Regardless, he continued the battle. After all, it wouldn't be too gentlemanly to quit after the first move.

Seeing as how his pokemon's attack didn't go as planned, he decided to make things clearer. "No John! I meant use your tail as a whip!" He clarified. The foe eevee, Knight, was already running forth. Ralph cried, "dodge!" He was too late. His eevee looked at him, distracted from the attack, and being knocked back by it. A sullen look swept across Ralph's face.

He sighed, "John! I told you to dodge! Alright, get back up." The eevee did as commanded, though slightly bruised under its fur. "John, use tackle attack!" The silver eevee got up, and rushed forward to attack the other eevee, not really aiming anywhere in particular. The attack strength should be increased because of the tail whip.

Isa cheered Knight on as his tackle hit. When Ralph ordered the attack Isa was ready.

"Knight! Dodge!"

Knight went to do as she ordered but waited a second too long. His opponent hit his backlegs and since Knight had relaxed it hurt a little more than it should have. Knight was angry as he got up and jumped away from John.

Isa didn't lose heart but instead hoped that John would be off-balanceand Ralph over confident from the recent attack.

"Knight use tackle again,but hit him as hard as you can on his side!"

Ralph acted fast, calling his eevee, "tackle quickly!" John, again looked at its trainer, but was this time quick enough. Misinterpretting its trainer's words, however, John charged straight into the other eevee. "Wait! John!" Ralph quickly cried out, but his eevee was unable to hear.

Ralph was unsure of what to do. All he really could do was bite his fingernails. Sweating, he continued to cry the words, "pull out", and "get out of the way".

Isa became ecstatic, John and Ralph had played right into her hands!

Knight felt as they collided and were both thrown back somewhat from the strength of the impact. He was starting to feel dizzy, but he was determined to win this match.

Isa realized that John seemed disoriented and had misunderstood his trainer, she would deal the final blow.

"Knight! Block his retreat, and tackle him from behind!"

Knight lept over his foe and, after skidding to a stop attempted to crash into him from behind.

Bam! Knight's attack landed, sending John back to his trainer. One could hear Ralph shouting to his eevee: "why didn't you dodge!" Though it wasn't like it could do anything. The silver eevee was now knocked out- still alive, but fainted. Congratulations, you win.

"I- I'm sorry I couldn't pay back for my lunch", Ralph cries, sending his pokemon back into its ball. Sniffling, he whispers, "rest up", into the ball.

Isa whooped at her triumph and ran forward to hug Knight. Meanwhile Knight was immensely pleased to have been able to show his mistress that he was strong and could protect her. The pain was totally worth it. For a few seconds they sat together revelling in their victory, then Isa started to look Knight over carefully. Finally she asked him to go back into his pokeball, which he did. Then standing, Isa walked over to ralph and hugged him.

"You paid me back a hundred times just with that battle! It was so fun, and I thank you."

Isa smiled then turned and went up the alleyway, quite pleased with herself for what she had done. She walked alone for several blocks stopping to ask directions twice, until she finally arrived at her destination.

In front of her rose the city's Pokecenter, gleaming red and white. Going inside she could see a comfortable waiting area, she would wait there while Knight was being tended to by nurse Joy. Stopping at the gleaming counter, Isa waited to be attended.

( OOC: No problem I completely understand that it is exam time so less people can come on. I'm a very patient person. :) )

Isa smiled happily at the young couple, she had been hoping to get Knight looked at quickly so that she might be able to walk around a little more, before having to look for a place to spend the night. She was hoping to maybe add one more pokemon to her team, so she could train both.

Stepping forward to the counter she suddenly had a thought, and turned back to the pleasant couple.

"Hi, would you know a good place for a traveler to spend the night?"

"Bye."
Isa turned and smiled at the nurse, and handed her her pokemon.

"He's a little bruised from a battle but I'm hoping he'll be okay, can you just make sure?"

Having said that, Isa moved back to make room for others to have their pokemon looked at and healed, quietly going and sitting down in one of the seats. She opened up one of her books for Junior coordinators and started to read.

"To become a coordinator one must train hard with their pokemon and plan ahead, so that even in your first contest you have a plan and startegy. Play your pokemon's strengths, be it cuteness, speed, beauty, or smartness, you must take what your pokemon naturally has and enhance it. Once this is done your chances of winning are greatly increased."

Closing the book Isa sighed. She really wanted to be part of a contest but she still needed to train a lot. She also wanted to add another pokemon to her team, the one she wanted most would be Ralts, which evolved into two highly graceful and beautiful evolutions that would be perfect for contests. A smile brightened her face, she would go in search of her future Ralts as soon as Knight was ready. It would be fun.

Isa stood up quickly and stepped forward, picking up Knight's pokeball, and letting him out.

"Come on! Let's go look for some pokemon to catch! And maybe another battle!"

Isa turned and raced out the door leaving a few upset people shouting at her. Knight raced alongside her, making longer jumps so as to keep up with his master's long legs.

After having run a few blocks they both stopped, Isa leaned against a light post, panting and leaning over. Knight panted as well but got over it quickly, regaining energy and ready for another run.

Isa reached into her pack and pulled out a water bottle, taking a long swig then kneeling down and giving knight a turn. With their backs turned they left themselves quite vulnerable, and Isa had forgotten to close her pack, so an apple from her supply fell out onto the pavement. She didn't even notice.

A Snorunt peeked across, hiding behind a cart, and looked at Isa. Snorunt was about to leave, when an apple that fell out of Isa's bag caught her attention. Snorunt looked slyly and then quickly moved forward to the apple, trying to be quiet as possible. Snorunt neared it and then started eating it out of hunger, not remembering her battle plan of bringing the apple with her AND then eating it. Snorunt joyfully ate the apple to it's core, not caring about Isa.

Level 7-Female Snorunt
