The other party should respond with a yes, or a no- however they see fit.

You can also submit an open request; meaning you can offer a pokèmon up, and instead of specifying who you would like to trade with, and for what- you can supply a list of pokèmon that you're looking for, or even whether you'd trade it for money or items.
