Oh no! A wild pidgey appeared! So what? What happens next? I believe that a good role playing game needs a few good quests. Perhaps you encounter an enjured pidgey, and need to heal it, but potions don't work on it. This questing system would add some much needed depth to our shallow role playing, and makes your modding, much, much easier! Questing also allows the player to logically get from one place to another, by actual, free-formed text. Another great thing about questing, is that it gives us that good old, nostalgic feeling.
It's quite obvious that we don't really see much past our random pokemon encounters. Sure, you get to catch a new pokemon, train, and level up, but that just gets tedious. Leveling up your pokemon takes way too much time, and way too many words, especially if your pokemon is over level 17.
So what do I mean by questing? Well you see, the player needs a bit of excitement. So what do you do? You get it to him/her, by throwing a nice little side quest to their already long pokemon journey. These side quests give your players an interesting perspective, and allows you to find out much more about them, by throwing NPCs in their path. This may be a good way to introduce team delta even!
How would this work? Simple. You introduce a task for the player. This should take several posts. It works much like a story, with an introduction, rising action, climax, falling action, and a quick wrap up, leading in your player finding a few things! After which, the pokemon which the trainer uses to accomplish the quest gain a level.

Maybe for each place we could have a little topic pointing out all of the NPCs a player might or might not encounter?

Does that sound like fun? I am asking a question when I first read what I said it sounded like I was being a smart A** which I am not XD

Yellow's idea sounds good to me. I mean, this will bring another way of leveling to the site. Not to mention that it's good for leveling up high level pokemon.

But lets not get to hasty about this I mean we don;t want a flock of spearow attacking someone with a pikachu now do we? <.<

I don't really understand the concept, so I'll sit back, and shut up.

I actually like the idea.. Just simply catching Pokemon and raising Pokemon is pretty boring, but having a question would make it seem less.. You know.. Boring. Not that the site's boring. But, I thnk it'd spice things up some
