Let's start working on the Fire Starter for Honiso's region. As I said We'll start from the fully evolved form, and backtrack to the preevolutions.

I think we can use this thread for all three forms as we plan them.
So, let's start:

Yelocu

Yelocu is a dual Type Fire/Ice pokèmon.
Evolves from Erakyu at level 36 and is the final form of Eelock.

Appearance
Yelocu resembles a giant red bipedal lizard. A row of ice spikes runs down its spine.

Abilities:

The sprite looks pretty good to me Terra! Infact, pretty good is an understatement! Amazing! It looks like a genuine pokemon, and the movese is quite quirky, which gets thumbs up from me! :D

In my opinion its attack should be slight higher than its defense

Why?

We weaken it more if we lower its defense without improving it.

This pokémon is mainly a fast and powerful special attacker, I personally would never use it for physical attacks anyway, so I think it should be left as it is without weakening the physical defence further, turning it into a frailer pokémon against opponents with high attack.

Oops my bad I meant to say Defense slightly higher than Attack...but first, who did you base its stats off of? I am just curious na dif you didn't base tis stats off of anyone you rock...but if you did...you still rock lol

I looked at the stat total of fire starters and saw it was 534 (safe for Blaziken that has 530), so I kept the same total for our starter.

Then after noticing it ended with many special based attacks, and seen as lizard are fast and move with sudden movements, I opted for high speed and high special attack as focus for it. That's nothing more than that.

Overall it's a powerful pokèmon to use as it is, but at the same time can be easily obliterated by a strong physical attacker.
That's a classic glass-cannon, and it is different enough from existing starters to have a niche of its own while remaining balanced (hits hard but has a weak point, so that's a realistic opponent)

If you all approve it, I'll start to work on the preevolutions.

Should it be resistant to steel type?

Fire is resistant to steel, but Ice is weak to it, they nullify each other.

To my understanding aren't flying type pokemon weak to ice?

Yeah...but we're talking about a Fire/Ice pokémon resistances here, not of a flying one.

No i was just making an educated statement wondering would it be or would it not be wise to have this fire/ice starter be 1x resistant to flying type pokemon.

I don't see it as a problem. It already has more weaknesses than resistances, plus a double weakness to rock (Rock attacks are rather common, even on not-rock pokémon).

Is it some kind of concern regarding the starters balance?
