The battle area here is flat land, with huge bolders and rocks all over the area. This would give all Rock or ground type pokemon an advantage. In the stands people fill the seats waiting for the battle. There were 350 strong watching this battle. The front door slides open and Maxxine Gamba the pokemon Coordinator appears. Standing on the side of the arena. Mic held in her right hand, she slowly lifts it to her mouth.

"HELLO ALL!!"

The crowd cheers, they were hungry for a battle they wanted it badly. Maxxine was used to crowds.

"This battle will be between The pokemon researcher Morse and the pokemon trainer Maximillion. Now will the two competitors come out? We don't really have all day haha."

Maximillion smiled as he looked at the crowd. He was about to put up a show that nobody had ever seen before. The pokemon which he was about to use was a pokemon that he was training for a long time but he never got to use before. It was a strange pokemon species. Each pokemon from that species was different and that was what made Maximillion like that pokemon. He picked up the pokemon's pokeball. Afterwards, he pressed the button in the middle of the pokeball, making it grow three times in size. Then, he threw the pokeball in the air and waited for it to fall on his right hand. As soon as it fell on the hand, he said "Spinda! Stand by for battle!" and tossed the pokeball in the middle of the arena. Apparently, the pokemon which he was using was a Spinda. The Spinda was quite peculiar. The spot on its forehead looked exactly like a heart. It was definetely a rare pokemon... What could Spinda's strength be? Everyone in the crowd would find soon enough!

Morse stepped into the stadium, ignoring the roar of the crowd as it rushed in his ears. He felt like he could hear everything. People chanting his name. People screaming curses and swears at him. Those mumbling how ugly his beard was. The thunder of the microphone. The silence of the battlefield. He could hear it all, but he chose to ignore it. Instead, all he could hear was the thump-thump of his heart as it nervously pattered.

He was dressed in a lab coat, further emphasizing his Researcher status. At his belt was but a single Pokemon, Zangoose. He hoped to God it would be enough. He enlarged the Pokeball then threw it. His normal type appeared in the battlefield and gave his trainer a quick salute. It was time to go to battle.

Maximillion smiled as he looked at the Zangoose that came out if the pokeball. That pokemon would definetely be a good match for Spinda. It looked very strong so he could not understand whether he would be victorious or not. The battle would show who the winner would be. With a smile on his face, the trainer said "Okay Spinda! It is about time we start! Use Trick Room and then go with Work Up!". Immediately, the arena was surrounded by a strange room and with the usage of Work Up, Spinda had grown stronger. The battle had just started!

Zangoose already knew what to do. He started running. He moved quickly, and the crowd roared its appreciation. Some of the more experienced trainers in the crowd recognized the Double Team and smiled to themselves. They knew that Spinda would have trouble getting its hands on the slippery normal type. The Zangoose leaped in the air, hurdling the Spinda like it was a fence and he was a Ponyta. He landed behind it and turned, a cold beam of ice emitting from his mouth and aimed for the Spinda and especially its feet. He was hoping to get the enemy Pokemon frozen early on and finish the battle quickly and without fault.

"Hahahaha. Did you think this would work?" were the trainer's words to the researcher as Spinda disappeared from in front of Zangoose. Maximillion continued saying "Trick Room is a move that makes slower pokemon faster... And my Spinda is clearly slower than a Zangoose...". Then, Spinda appeared right behind Zangoose. Maximillion smiled and said "Use Focus Punch!" as the pokemon charged its fist and attempted to land a hit on Zangoose's back. The battle had just started!

Whif!

The Zangoose that Spinda punched disappeared. Double Team did have a tendency to confuse Pokemon and make them punch at something that wasn't there. The real Zangoose had used it's claws to climb its way up onto the highest boulder and stayed there. He waved at the Spinda, smiling. He used on ice beam on his boulder, making it treacherous to climb, especially to someone like Spinda who was without claws. It didn't matter how fast you moved if you couldn't get any traction. Zangoose had given Spinda little choice. It could focus punch the boulder and basically give Zangoose a free move, or it could try a long range battle with the more evasive and better suited Zangoose.

Morse was a chess player. Of course he had planned out all of his moves ahead of time. It came with the territory. Right then he was writing slowly in his notebook, half-paying attention to the battle and half-doodling a Pidgey. "I'm sorry?" He asked Maximillion, looking up. "You were saying?"
